Singapore businessman Lim Siong Guan honoured

The University of Adelaide honoured prominent Singapore government official Lim Siong Guan with a Distinguished Alumni Award during the annual graduation ceremony in Singapore on Saturday 28 April.

Siong Guan, the Group President of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, is a graduate of the University of Adelaide, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) in 1969. The former Head of the Singapore Civil Service will also give the official address to 183 University of Adelaide graduates at the National University of Singapore Cultural Centre.

Siong Guan has served Singapore with distinction for more than 40 years and is a recipient of the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1982, the Meritorious Service Medal in 1991 and the Order of Nila Utama (First Class) in 2006. The Distinguished Alumni Award is in recognition of Mr Lim Siong Guan's visionary leadership and extensive contributions to Singapore and its Civil Service.

High profile Singaporeans who have graduated from the University of Adelaide include the President of Singapore, His Excellency Dr Tony Tan; the late Honourable Mr Ong Teng Cheong, former and first-elected President of the Republic of Singapore; and Singapore's Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, His Excellency the Honourable Sim Cheok Lim. 2013 Publications now available

The 2013 editions of the Undergraduate Prospectus and the Postgraduate Coursework Prospectus are now available on the University’s International Publications website. Printed copies of these publications are being sent to all agent offices.
