International Sponsored Students

The University of Adelaide has sponsorship arrangements with several foreign government and non government organisations. The International Sponsored Student Advisor (ISSA) liaises between sponsored students, sponsors and the University. The ISSA is currently located within the International Student Centre (ISC).

Our Aim

To provide welfare support and timely advice to international sponsored students. Below is a list of services that we offer:

• On Arrival Reception (Airport pick up)
• Temporary accommodation
• Sponsored students workshops during orientation
• Non clinical advice to students
• Referral to counsellors and academic advisers
• Academic reporting to sponsors each semester
• Liaise between sponsors, students and the University
• Assistance to students in fulfilling the requirements of their sponsorship agreements
• Monitor annual academic progress for Higher Degree Research
• Coordination of sponsor's visits and meeting key staff members

Financial Arrangements with Sponsors

 The University may agree to invoice an approved third party for the sponsored student's fees, and to allow later payment of fees. Further information about this arrangement can be found here.

Newsletter 'The Sponsor'

This newsletter will showcase achievements of international sponsored students studying at the University of Adelaide and inform sponsors about various services provided by the International Student Centre (ISC). The newsletter will be published bi-annually and distributed electronically to sponsors.
