What type of accommodation will I be staying in and where will it be located?
Students will stay in homestay accommodation for the duration of the study tour. Please note that we will have two students per family.
Homestay families are located no further than 45mins (on public transport) to get to the Universities North Terrace campus.
Will the homestay be arranged close to the Roseworthy campus or will I be expected to travel to the Roseworthy campus daily?
A bus will be arranged to drive participants from the North Terrace campus to the Roseworthy campus each morning and back to the Adelaide CBD each afternoon.
Students will be required to make their own way into the North Terrace campus each day (with the support of their homestay family).
We will provide students with metroCARD (prepaid public transport card) so you won’t need to pay for transport or purchase tickets to the North Terrace campus.
Do I need to upload the personal statement when I register for the study tour?
As part of the application process you will be asked to supply a 200-word personal statement.
Once your application has been reviewed, we will confirm enrolment in the program. In the unlikely event that the application is rejected, we will issue a full refund for the registration fee.
After acceptance into the program you will be asked to complete a homestay application which will also need to include a letter to your homestay family introducing yourself.
What are the arrival and departure dates for the study tour?
Students are expected to arrive on the Saturday prior to the tour commencing and leave on the Sunday after the tour is completed.
Students who choose to arrive before the start date or leave after the departure date must be supervised by an adult (for those under 18 years old).
Please note that the University will only be responsible for students during the official study tours program dates, and will not able to provide assistance outside of the dates.
Airport pick up’s will only be available on the Saturday or Sunday - prior to the tour commencing.
If I arrive in Adelaide before the study tours commences and will be staying in the city, could I be picked up and transported to the assigned homestay?
This may be possible, depending on the arrival of other students. However, it cannot be guaranteed at this stage and students may have to meet staff and host parents at the airport.
Will I be guaranteed a place in the study tour once I complete the registration with the full payment?
We will confirm your participation in the study tour once we have reviewed all student applications and personal statements.
There are only 20 positions available in the program, therefore flights should not be booked until you have received confirmation from The University of Adelaide.
A full refund for the registration fee will be provided if your application is not successful.
What is the brief itinerary for this study tour?
The scheduled activities finish on the Friday afternoon, with Friday evening/Saturday reserved for students to spend with their host families and experience Adelaide.
Therefore, any departure from the Saturday is fine.
Please note, flights should not be booked until we have confirmed your position in the Study Tour.
When can I book my flights to Adelaide?
Please wait until your participation on the Study Tour has been confirmed by The University of Adelaide (a full refund for the registration fee will be provided if your application is not successful).
Do I require a Visa to visit Australia?
If my parents/family are accompanying me to Adelaide, can I stay with them instead of homestay and commute to Roseworthy daily?
Yes, however we will need to receive evidence/sign off from your parents that they are indeed in Adelaide.
If I am/will turn 18 years old before the start of the study tour, can I choose to stay at a different accommodation instead of homestay?
Yes, however this will need to be self-funded.

The Roseworthy campus is an operational farm and you will also be outside during winter. We recommend you pack a wet weather jacket and warm clothes as it may be can be cold. You will also be required to wear closed toe shoes at the Roseworthy campus to participate in the activities.
