Computing and Data Science - trimester updates

The University has revitalised the way that we deliver a number of our Postgraduate programs in Data Science, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

Changes include transitioning to a Trimester model and providing greater flexibility and individualisation of study plans, including specific opportunities to undertake internships and practical experiences.  

The Postgraduate programs that have been revitalised are:   

• Cyber Security (Masters / Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate) 
• Machine Learning (Masters / Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate) 
• Data Science (Masters / Graduate Diploma / Graduate Certificate) 

The Trimester dates at the University of Adelaide are:  

• Trimester 1 from 31 Jan 2022 – 7 May 2022 
• Trimester 2 from 23 May 2022 – 27 August 2022 
• Trimester 3 from 5 September 2022 – 3 December 2022 

A full-time study load in trimester mode will be 24 units (8 University of Adelaide courses) per annum, allowing students’ duration to remain the same (eg. 2 years for Masters programs). In addition, there are new 6-unit internship courses available per trimester for greater accessibility to allow students to undertake a practical experience at a time that suits them best.
